Lawfully Ed
Publishing The Law Institute of Victoria's monthly Journal and producing educational video content to level-up Victorian lawyers...also writing jokes.

Question: How many lawyers does it take to change a lightbulb?

Victoria's legal sector is supported by The Law Institute of Victoria. LIV produce a monthly sector Journal and offer a huge variety of Continuous Professional Development that lawyers must practice to be considered a lawyer, officially. In 2022, I was very fortunate to work across many of LIV's divisions, to help produce and deliver all types of content for lawyers.
Arguably, I was even more fortunate that the Editor-In-Chief of the Institute's Journal both sat next to me and enjoyed my sense of humour, as this enabled my becoming..ing, of a joke writer, officially.

Turns out, a solid joke was required once a month for the Catch The Counterfeit Competition in the classified section: spot the fake ad, win a bottle of wine.

One day, I was told by so-and-so, down by the water cooler, that LIV had received more entries than usual, "probably because the jokes have actually gotten funny!" then asking, "Did you read that latest one about the snowman?", not knowing whom they twas water coolering with.

It was on this December day that I knew I was honouring my purpose, and that my dad would have been particularly proud of that one. For he was the Captain of Sillytown and officially taught me how to officially apply official humour, like a pro. Officially. Any objections? I rest my case. Furthermore:

Answer: 100. One to hold the lightbulb, ninety-nine to spin the house around.
Nb: Number not considered "offical" and intended for silly and sentimental purposes only, audience discretion advised. Any likeness to reality of my experience is intentional. Names have been changed to enhance the bit.
